Street art on a wall in Glasgow
Glasgow’s street art scene is incredible - it's like a walking gallery all over the city!

Everywhere you go, you’ll find street art on buildings, alleyways, and underpasses, bringing loads of colour and personality to the urban landscape. Artists like Smug and Rogue-One have really made a name for themselves, creating hyper-realistic portraits and scenes that grab your attention. One of the most famous pieces is the giant mural of St. Mungo on High Street. It’s just beautifully done, showing him holding a robin, and it’s kind of become a symbol of modern Glasgow.

The city council’s “City Centre Mural Trail” has also helped bring out this art form. They’ve actually mapped out the murals, so you can take a self-guided tour to check out the best spots. And it’s not just typical graffiti or random tags—these are commissioned pieces that celebrate everything from Glasgow’s history and wildlife to its music scene and humour. You’ll find pieces paying tribute to Scottish icons like Billy Connolly, alongside playful ones like the taxi mural, where it looks like a black cab is crashing through the wall.

And the best part? The artwork is always changing. New murals pop up every now and then, so there’s always something fresh to see. It’s one of the things that makes Glasgow feel so alive and creative—no matter where you turn, there’s some amazing piece of art that feels uniquely Glaswegian.
